Can ADHD Be Reversed Without Medications

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI – Learn how a novel ADHD achievement program is helping some kids and adults throw away their ADHD medication for good and finally reach their highest potential.

We believe children and adults should own their achievements.  Nobody wants to question if their GPA, mood, and thoughts are coming from a medication or their own accomplishments.  Unfortunately, those struggling with ADHD can have a difficult time putting all the pieces together and without some extra help.

Attention deficit disorder is a medical condition that robs one of the ability to effectively place focus and concentration when needed.  Distracted, impulsive, poorly organized and with a limited ability to prioritize tasks many find themselves procrastinating and frustrated with themselves. Lack of self-control and social awareness can leave some isolated and left out from their peers.

The first line against this condition in the United States is medication.

ADHD medications and other psychotropic drugs literally hijack normal metabolic processes forcing the brain to operate differently a short time.  While some temporary behavioral changes may occur with medications like Ritalin, Adderall and Concerta there are always side effects.  In fact, the medical community readily admits that insomnia, psychosis and suicidal thoughts are all possible side effects with some ADHD medications.

At best, an ADHD medication becomes a short-term chemical symptom reducer and at worst it provides no benefit or comes with significant intolerable side effects.

We believe most parents would rather not have their child on daily mind-altering medication but most do not know they have a choice.  A choice that doesn’t involve medication but instead seeks to restore proper brain function virtually making poor focus and concentration a thing of the past.

Let’s face it, everyone has the ability to focus on something but those with attention deficit disorder seem to only be able to focus on things they enjoy such as video games or playing.  Conversely, they appear clueless when it comes to completing tasks which have multiple steps such as cleaning their room, homework assignments, or activities that require sustained focus or sitting still.

What is going on?

ADHD might seem like a behavioral or disciplinary problem but it is not, it is a brain communication problem.  The timing of information and how that data moves around the brain allows us to generate thoughts, actions, and feelings.  If that timing is “off” then it can show up as a behavioral, cognitive or social integration issue.

While it’s much easier to write a prescription for a drug that seems to treat the problem the medications never actually change the course of the condition.  And studies demonstrate, contrary to popular thought many ADHD children will continue to struggle with symptoms into adulthood.

At Michigan Brain Health, our goal is to teach the brain how to focus naturally.

3 Keys to ending poor focus:

Ensure brainwaves are balanced using an advanced painless computer based training program called neurointegration.
Correct left to right brain imbalance known as hemisphericity
Support optimal brain health nutritionally

There is no guesswork involved.  It is possible to know those who are likely to respond and objectively track their progress by receiving a qEEG (Brain Map).  This technology is repeatable and proven to correlate with functional MRI findings.  By placing sensors on the scalp and measuring the activity of the brain a qEEG literally generates a map of how an individuals brain is connected.  Areas operating properly will be revealed versus areas producing abnormally high or low electrical activity.  qEEG and neurointegration have 40+ years of research with most of the effort applied to attention deficit disorder.  Researchers believe that specific high and low electrical activity patterns are associated with certain behavioral symptoms.

Be reassured that a brain map allows highly reliable measurements of brain electrical function.  That data can be used clinically to guide care and track training.  This data is mathematically compared to a normative database that is both age and gender stratified to ensure the accuracy of the findings.

The largest pediatric medical association in the United States is in agreement.  In November 2012, the American Academy of Pediatrics approved biofeedback and neurofeedback as a Level 1 or “best support” treatment option for children suffering from ADHD.

Here is what others have experienced in our office:

Catherine A.:  “My son is in first grade and had a difficult time reading, doing homework and behaving in class. He was reading a level “C” book before care with Dr. Johnson. In 6 weeks he is now reading at a level “I” and his teacher keeps telling me how well he behaves in class. His grades are improving and I finally have hope for his future.” Catherine A.

Leilani 7/27/16: “My son was diagnosed with ADHD. His primary physician said the only thing that would help him was medication and gave me no other options. We found Dr. Johnson in March of 2016. I have seen many positive changes in my son. He is sleeping better, calmer in his everyday activities; listens to direction better, and is more focused. I am now able to have a fun and rewarding relationship with my son, one where arguments are few and far between. I can not trust that when I tell him to do something that it will get done in a timely manner since he is no longer “forgetting” what I tell him the moment I say it. If you are seeking care let me encourage you to just…Go!”

Jen C.:  “My child can finally focus in school. Homework only takes 1/3 of the time it used to take. I finally have hope that my child will succeed in life. Thank you Dr. Johnson.”

Now that you know there are potential solutions make yourself a personal promise:  Take the next step and investigate to see if this program can help by scheduling a qEEG (Brain Map) today.

To encourage action we are offering a special price for a limited time.

Call today and reserve a brain map by calling 586.731.8840.  As you can imagine our program is in demand so we limit the number of cases we allow into the office each month.

Understandably, we want to help as many people in our community as we can but want to ensure we are assisting the most chronic and difficult cases first.  We really want to help those who are serious about taking action to get help.

Not everyone is a candidate.  After carefully considering the evidence of the qEEG (Brain map), history and evaluation Dr. Johnson will let you know if you are a good candidate and likely to respond to an individual care plan.

Dr. Karl R.O.S. Johnson, DC, owner of Michigan Brain Health, is board certified in neurofeedback via the BCIA. He is also a certified graduate of the American Functional Neurology Institute, and a member of the International Society for Neurofeedback & Research. Dr. Johnson will do a brain map and neurologic examination to determine the extent of the imbalances in the brain.  (our normal fee is a low $397, other clinics charge $600+ for a brain map).

P.S.  ADHD achievement program may improve:

Grades
Mood Control
Cognitive Performance
Social Skills

We accept children as young a 4-5 years old, as long as they will sit for the testing.

***We also work with Autism spectrum children and adults, depression, anxiety, chronic migraine headaches, chronic body pain, memory problems, and post-concussion syndrome.

Note: One of the modalities we use to help optimize brain function is neurofeedback. Basic learning theory is the backbone of EEG biofeedback, which is more well known as neurofeedback. Neurofeedback trains the brain to enhance self-regulation and helps the body to find more efficient pathways so the body is better able to manage and heal itself. We do not ‘treat’ conditions with neurofeedback, but assist the nervous system to make adjustments to improve function. Users of neurofeedback learn to regulate their brain activity, resulting in improved brain performance. Michigan Brain Health makes no claims that it can cure any conditions, including any conditions referenced on its website or in print materials, including ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, migraines, headaches, stress, sleep disorders, Alzheimer’s and dementia.  If you take prescription medications for any of these conditions, you should consult with your doctor before discontinuing use of such medications.
